Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has sent a special written message to President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan aiming to strengthen long-standing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The message was formally handed over during a high-level meeting held in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir met with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, where he delivered the letter on behalf of the Prime Minister.
The development was confirmed by the UAE’s state-run Emirates News Agency.
In the message, the Tarique Rahman highlighted key areas of mutual interest, including preserving the historical ties between the two nations, expanding bilateral trade and investment, and enhancing cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals.
During the meeting, Humayun Kabir reiterated Bangladesh’s firm support for the UAE’s security and stability.
In response, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed appreciation for Bangladesh’s continued friendship and solidarity. Describing Bangladesh as a “close friendly nation,” he emphasized the importance of continued constructive cooperation for the benefit of both countries.
The meeting was also attended by UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Saeed Al Hajeri, and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to the UAE Tarek Ahmed, along with other senior officials.
