With a commitment to public welfare, social justice, and sustainable development, parliamentary candidate Maulana Sheikh Nure Alam Hamidi has unveiled a 22-point election manifesto for the Moulvibazar-4 (Sreemangal–Kamalganj) constituency. He said the core objective of the manifesto is to eliminate long-standing neglect, deprivation, and discrimination in the area and to build a peaceful, modern, and prosperous region.

The manifesto was announced at a press conference held on Monday (9 February 2026) at the Sreemangal Press Club. Among those present were Mufti Habibur Rahman, President of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, Moulvibazar District Unit; Maulana Abul Kalam, Vice President of the district unit; along with people from various professions, educators, Islamic scholars, journalists, and local dignitaries.

Addressing the press conference, Sheikh Nure Alam Hamidi said, “Although Sreemangal and Kamalganj are highly promising areas, the people of this region have long been deprived of their rightful entitlements. If elected, I will work as the voice of the people and transform this constituency into a model of development, Insha’Allah.”

Commitment to a Terror-Free and Orderly Society

The first point of the manifesto emphasizes the eradication of terrorism, extortion, and social disorder. He stated that sustainable development is impossible without peace and security, and called for united social resistance against all anti-social forces.

Firm Stand for the Deprived and Neglected

Pledging to protect the rights of neglected and deprived people in the mineral-rich Moulvibazar-4 constituency, he said the proper utilization of natural resources to improve local living standards would be a top priority.

Development of Communication and Infrastructure

The manifesto outlines plans for repairing rural roads, constructing new roads, bridges, and culverts, and renovating old infrastructure to build a modern and sustainable transportation network. Measures for flood control embankments, repair of damaged dams, and advance disaster preparedness were also highlighted.

Transformative Plans for Education and Healthcare

To improve the quality of education, he pledged infrastructure development of educational institutions, establishment of digital classrooms, and recruitment of qualified teachers.

In the health sector, he promised to equip upazila health complexes with modern medical equipment, ensure adequate doctors and nurses, enhance the effectiveness of community clinics, and introduce special healthcare services for pregnant mothers and children.

Unlocking Potential in Agriculture, Fisheries, and Tourism

The manifesto includes ensuring fair prices for farmers, expanding the use of modern agricultural technology, providing subsidies, and offering training to modernize the agricultural sector.

He also announced initiatives to modernize fish farming, provide training for fishermen, and increase fish production in water bodies.

In addition, plans were presented to develop tourism by utilizing the natural beauty of Sreemangal and Kamalganj, creating large-scale employment opportunities in the process.

Electricity, Law and Order, and Environmental Protection

Sheikh Hamidi pledged 100 percent uninterrupted electricity supply in rural areas, effective measures to eliminate terrorism and drug abuse, and modernization of police services to bring law enforcement closer to the people.

The manifesto also emphasizes strict enforcement of environmental laws and the conservation of rivers, canals, and wetlands.

Development of Religious Institutions, Women, and Minorities

Commitments were made to renovate and develop mosques, madrasas, and all religious institutions.

He announced the formation of a dedicated cell to ensure women’s safety, education, and employment, with special focus on engaging women in handicrafts and cottage industries through sewing machines, microcredit, and training.

Improving the quality of life and ensuring the security of tea workers, marginalized communities, and religious and ethnic minorities were also given special importance.

Major Development Projects

Among the major project proposals are the establishment of a medical college in Kamalganj, modernization of the Tea Research Institute and Tea Auction Center in Sreemangal, establishment of a fisheries research and youth development training institute, and the reopening of Shamshernagar Airport.

He also pledged effective measures to promote small and medium enterprises for local entrepreneurs.

Safe Migration for Expatriates

The manifesto includes ensuring safe migration for expatriates, providing legal assistance, incentives for remittance transfers, easy banking services, and support for reintegration and investment opportunities for returning expatriates.

Call to the People

While announcing the manifesto, Sheikh Nure Alam Hamidi said, “These 22 points are not mere promises; they are the blueprint for the future of Sreemangal–Kamalganj. I want to do politics not for power, but for the people.”

He urged people from all walks of life to unite and stand by him in building a development-oriented and justice-based society.
