Three killed in Mymensingh road accident

Three passengers of CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed and several others injured in an accident involving multiple vehicles on the Mymensingh-Haluaghat road in Bagunda area in Tarakanda upazila this morning.

The victims could not be identified immediately.

Quoting locals, Md Tipu Sultan, officer-in-charge of Tarakanda Police Station, said three passengers of the auto-rickshaw died on the spot and several others were injured when the CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a bus collided head-on around 11:30am.

Several other high-speed vehicles, including another CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a human haulier, were also involved in the collision, said Kazi Akhtar Ul Alam, superintendent of police in Mymensingh.

Police rushed to the spot and conducted the rescue operations, the SP added.
