(Ukrainian Emergency Service via AP)Russian forces launched fresh drone attacks on Ukraine's Kyiv region on Friday, damaging homes, apartment buildings and warehouses for a second consecutive day.
The strikes damaged 14 warehouses, 16 private houses, three apartment buildings and 16 vehicles, according to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv regional military administration.
The attacks killed one person and two others were injured.
Emergency authorities said a second drone struck one location after rescue workers arrived, in what the military described as a “double tap” attack targeting first responders.
Russia's Defense Ministry claimed it struck a warehouse storing Ukraine's Flamingo cruise missiles and rocket booster fuel, though Ukrainian officials did not immediately confirm the claim.
Meanwhile, authorities in the southern Kherson region urged residents to move to safer areas, warning of prolonged electricity and heating outages this winter following intensified Russian attacks on critical infrastructure.
Ukraine has also lowered its 2026 GDP growth forecast from 1.3% to 0.8%, citing damage to energy and logistics infrastructure and disruptions to Black Sea exports.
Russia launched 164 drones overnight, Ukraine's air force said. Meanwhile, Ukrainian attacks killed one person and injured 27 others in Russia's Yaroslavl region.
