The Walton Smart Fridge Dhaka Premier League (DPL) will resume in full swing after the Eid-ul-Adha break, with all 12 clubs returning to action in the next round of matches from 2 June.
Adding further interest to the competition, several Bangladesh national team cricketers will feature in this round as they continue preparations for the upcoming ODI series against Australia. Their participation is expected to intensify the contest and draw greater attention from cricket fans.
Before the Eid break, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto struck a century for Abahani Limited. Fast bowlers Nahid Rana and Taskin Ahmed are also set to return to action for Mohammedan Sporting Club in the upcoming fixtures.
The round will serve as an important preparation platform for the national team players, allowing them to regain match rhythm, sharpen their batting and bowling skills, and adjust to competitive match situations after the break. The selectors will also have an opportunity to closely monitor their performances ahead of the Australia series.
Meanwhile, the clubs will look to strengthen their positions in the league standings. With the title race gathering pace and teams also battling to avoid relegation, the post-Eid phase of the competition is expected to bring greater intensity.
After seven rounds, Mohammedan Sporting Club lead the points table with 12 points. Defending champions Abahani Limited are second with 10 points from seven matches. Legends of Rupganj also have 10 points but sit third due to a lower net run rate, while Prime Bank Cricket Club are fourth with the same number of points.
