Gold prices in Bangladesh have increased after three consecutive reductions, with the latest adjustment raising the price of 22-carat gold by Tk2,157 per bhori.
According to a statement issued by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) on Saturday (28 March), the new price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk237,012 per bhori (11.664 grams). The revised rates came into effect from 10:00am the same day.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made in response to a rise in the price of pure (tejabi) gold in the local market, taking the overall market situation into consideration.
Under the new pricing structure, 21-carat gold is being sold at Tk226,282 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at Tk193,914 per bhori. Gold produced under the traditional method has been fixed at Tk157,931 per bhori.
Previously, on 27 March, BAJUS had reduced the price of 22-carat gold by Tk6,590 per bhori, setting the rate at Tk234,855. At that time, 21-carat gold was priced at Tk224,182 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk192,164, and traditional gold at Tk156,473 per bhori.
