Police recovered the bodies of a former teacher of Rangpur Zilla School, his wife, son and daughter from a locked house in Machuapara area of Rangpur city on Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as Ganapati Chakraborty Jewel, 65, his wife Pritilata Chakraborty Bhola, 50, daughter Prarthi Chakraborty, 25, and son Priyam Chakraborty, 12.
According to police and local residents, the house had remained locked for an extended period, raising suspicion among neighbours. Police later went to the house, broke open the lock and found the four bodies inside.
The bodies were subsequently recovered, while the exact circumstances and cause of the deaths could not be immediately established.
Police said they were investigating the incident. Autopsies and other necessary legal procedures will be carried out to determine the actual cause of death.
