Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla) has transferred and reassigned two senior officials of its subsidiary Maddhapara Granite Mining Company Limited (MGMCL).
According to an office order issued by Petrobangla's Recruitment, Promotion and Transfer Division on Tuesday, Engineer DM Zobaed Hossain, Managing Director of MGMCL, has been transferred and attached to the Office of the Chairman of Petrobangla as an Additional General Manager (Attached).
Meanwhile, Md Amzad Hossain, who had been serving as Director (Development) at Petrobangla, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of MGMCL.
The order stated that the reshuffle would remain effective until further notice and was made in the interest of maintaining efficient management and operational continuity at the state-owned mining company.
The transferred officials have been instructed to join their new assignments accordingly. The order takes immediate effect upon approval by the competent authority.
The office order was signed by Md Javed Ibne Shahed, General Manager (Administration) of Petrobangla, and copies were circulated to the relevant offices for necessary action.
MGMCL, a subsidiary of Petrobangla, operates the country's only hard-rock mine located at Maddhapara in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur. The company plays a significant role in supplying granite stone for various infrastructure and construction projects across Bangladesh.
