Abdul Hannan Mollah, Ramisa’s father, said he firmly believes he will get justice for his daughter’s killing, based on the assurance given by the prime minister.
“The prime minister told me he had come here, to Ramisa’s Pallabi home, as the father of a daughter and as an elder brother. I have 100 percent faith in the love he showed, his tears, and his assurance that I will get justice for my daughter’s murder. I believe we will get a fair and speedy trial,” Abdul Hannan added.
He was speaking to local journalists this afternoon in front of the family graveyard beside their ancestral home in Shialdi village, under Ichhapura union of Munshiganj’s Sirajdikhan upazila.
He further said, “Under Bangladesh’s laws, I expect the highest punishment for the killer. In my presence, the prime minister instructed the law minister to ensure the maximum punishment allowed by law.”
Munshiganj-1 MP Md Abdullah was present at the time.
Eight-year-old Ramisa was raped and murdered in Pallabi on May 19. The main accused, Sohel Rana, 34, along with his wife, has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman last night visited the victim’s Pallabi home around 9:50pm and offered condolences.
