A youth vandalised the boundary fence of his father’s grave and also hurled expletives during the agitation,  alleging that he received lower share in ancestral land compared with his other four brothers.

The incident happened at Analertari village, Kholahati union, Gaibandha Sadar Upazila on Tuesday noon, confirmed the Union Parishad's Chairman Masum Hakkani, adding the dispute was later resolved.

A video of the incident went viral on social media which shows that a youth named Shah Alam -- wearing black pants and black shirt -- is vandalising the fence of a grave with a stick. He is also seen kicking the fence, which is made of bamboo poles and plastic nets, while using abusive words.

In the video, the youth calms down only after uprooting the fence.

According to locals, the late Abdul Mannan divided his four-bigha land among his five sons. The youngest son, Shah Alam, alleges that his father gave his second-eldest brother Iqbal more land at the cost of giving him less.

The father’s grave is also located in the piece of land allocated for Iqbal.
