A Dhaka court has accepted the chargesheet filed against the prime accused, Sohel Rana, and his wife, Swapna Akter, in the rape and murder case of child Ramisa Akter in the capital’s Pallabi area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ashraful Haque ordered the case to be transferred to the Dhaka Child Violence Prevention Tribunal for trial.
"Earlier in the day, the investigation officer submitted the chargesheet before the court at around 3:30pm."
According to court sources, Sohel has been charged with rape and murder, while his wife has been accused of assisting in the murder. The chargesheet includes 15 witnesses.
Earlier in the day, police produced the two accused before the court. It was learnt that the chargesheet was prepared after completing the DNA test and other investigation formalities.
