Independent candidate Dr Tasnim Jara has been allotted the “Football” symbol in the Dhaka-9 constituency.
She collected the symbol on Wednesday (21 January) afternoon from the Dhaka Divisional Office.
Tasnim Jara said, “Over the past few days, as I have been talking to residents of the Dhaka-9 constituency, I have spoken with many people in Khilgaon, Sabujbagh, and Mugda thanas. Almost every day, someone has asked: what is the election symbol? Which symbol will they see on the ballot paper if they want to support me. Today, we have received a very clear answer to that question.”
She added, “I am contesting the upcoming national parliamentary election with the football symbol. From tomorrow, we will begin our election campaign. Our campaign will be based on the kind of politics we want to see going forward—politics of transparency and accountability. I request everyone to keep us in your prayers and wish us well.”
