Students of polytechnic institutions have expressed dissatisfaction over the outcome of a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Education, warning of launching tougher programmes to press home their demands.
The meeting began around 12:00pm at the Secretariat, where Rehana Yasmin, additional secretary (technical wing) of the Technical and Madrasah Education Division, sat with an 18-member delegation of Karigori Chhatro Andolon, Bangladesh.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, student representative Mashfiq Islam said, "We didn't receive any official documents or see any concrete steps from the ministry. They have been stalling progress on every issue."
"Today's discussions were not fruitful. We will soon announce fresh protest programmes to push for our six-point demands," he added.
The students have been demonstrating to press for various academic and administrative reforms in the polytechnic education system.
