Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez’s mother, Kim Fernandez, passed away on April 6, 2025, at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. She had been admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU) after suffering a heart attack on March 24.
Upon hearing the news of her mother’s illness, Jacqueline suspended all her professional commitments and decided to stay by her mother’s side. As a result, she canceled her scheduled performance at the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL) held in Guwahati.
Kim Fernandez was of Malaysian and Canadian descent. She met Sri Lankan Burgher Elroy Fernandez in the 1980s while working as an air hostess in Bahrain, and later they got married. Jacqueline is the youngest of their four children.
Jacqueline is devastated by her mother’s death. She and her father, Elroy Fernandez, attended the funeral. Bollywood colleagues, including Sonu Sood, were also present to offer their condolences.
In an earlier interview, Jacqueline had expressed deep love and respect for her mother, saying, “My mom has always supported me. I miss her a lot. I live here alone without my parents. They are so strong and have always been such an inspiration for me to keep moving forward.”
